(Poetry) How to Make Word Soup

Yum, yum,
Word Soup:
A staple food
of critics
and creators alike.
So filling,
but careful:
don’t spill.

Ingredients:
Noun noodles
Mashed metaphors
Diced imagery
A dash of synonym

Mix dry ingredients in hyperbole
Boil broth of alliteration
until onomatopoeia crackles

Stir until dry mix dissolves
and consonance settles
Rest for 30 minutes

If result is unsatisfactory
Recommend:
Reset the batch
Improvise a new blend

Otherwise:
Make the words look pretty
Bon appetit!
