(Poetry) Dandy Lion

She pokes up through the sidewalk
through a crack in the cement
as the ultimate testament
of Nature’s resilience.

In stubborn defiance
of the strength of Man,
She sprouts up again
and again
in the gardens and fields
again
and again
alongside roads and streams
again
and again
and again
without end
she never yields;
her will reigns supreme
as a lion amongst men.

  1. This dandelion reminds me of a lot of women I’ve met, my mother mostly.

Such strong women men create at their hands of love so viciously, let all the women who felt the hand of love so tender now rough ,
Be like the dandelion and come out tough.
