Important Update – The Future of TDW

Hi, it’s me, Tyler D. Heading into the final quarter of 2021, I think it’s about time I talk about what’s been going on lately. It’s not exactly been the greatest of years, for a variety of reasons, but that’s beside the point.

This site still isn’t where I want it to be in terms of consistency, but I’ve at least got a better idea of where it should be. Moving forward, Tyler DeWriter will be transitioning into a commentary-style website for reviews, analyses, updates, and event impressions.

Everything currently here will remain here, but moving forward, my creative works will instead go on my WIP sister site, tentatively named Typing DeWords. It’s not ready to be made public though, so as mentioned in Entry XVIII, my Poetry Compilations will continue here until Entry XX.

I also mentioned something else in that post, something called Project Ultima… let’s expand on that a bit. Its official title, I’ve decided, will be Imperfectly Balanced. As for what it is… I’m still trying to sort out some details, so I won’t spill too much just yet… but I will confirm it’s poetry-related. Also, to give you an idea of scale, the finished product will easily be the largest thing I’ve ever put together.

While I work to get things in order, uploads will remain infrequent. Aside from the two aforementioned goals, I also still need to sit down and finish two posts that are long overdue: one regarding the #anitwitwatches pick of Astra Lost In Space, the other regarding the final part of my 12 Rules for Life analysis. Also, I’d like to do some Halloween-related things, so that’ll be my plan for this month.

Beyond that, I’d like to create a new upload schedule for Tyler DeWriter. Now that I think about it, I believe I know why the first one failed: I was over-extending myself. In trying to allow for every possibility, I wasn’t allowing myself to properly focus on any single thing. Now that I have a set style to follow, however, it should be a more realistic aim.

Typing DeWords will be treated a bit differently, as it’ll inherit the free-form nature I’d envisioned previously. Rather than an exact schedule, it may look more like a monthly quota instead. That could be poetry (individual, not compiled), short stories, maybe an ongoing series or two, but I’d like to post only when I have something I feel is worth posting.

If all goes well, it should be up and running by early November, while Imperfectly Balanced should come out sometime before Christmas.

I think that about covers the major points, so I’m gonna wrap things up. To those of you who’ve stayed with me this far, thank you for your patience. If you like to read my poetry, I hope you’ll consider following my sister site when it’s ready to launch. Stay safe, and have a good day/night!
