the one with the baseball cap.
I bet he’s going places,
with a walk like that.
The lady over there,
bet she’s got a lot to say,
with that wide-brimmed hat
providing so much shade.
That man with the hard hat…
I hope he’s doing okay.
The wear of his clothes
suggest rougher days.
The girl with the toque,
what sights has she seen?
Across this wide world,
just where has she been?
Here comes the top hat,
with immaculate threads.
Imagine the top-of-the-line
designs he owns today!
…and here I am,
not a hat to my name.
I do not deserve
to stand among the greats.
